RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN VISITED PLATOV INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Platov International Airport and the passenger terminal of the first newly built airport in the modern Russia's history. Vladimir Putin also visited the main passenger service areas of the airport and Free South panoramic installation dedicated to the Cossack life.

Platov International Airport was put into operation on 7 December 2017. The project was implemented as part of a public-private partnership with participation of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Rostov Region and Airports of Regions managing company. The total budget for construction of the new airport made 47 billion rubles, including 19 billion rubles as private investment: these funds were invested in the construction of more than 100 facilities with a total floor area of ​​80 thousand square meters. From 7 December 2017 to 31 January 2018, Platov Airport serviced 415,808 passengers, which was 20% higher than in the same period of the year 2017.

During his visit to the Platov passenger terminal, the Russian President was accompanied by Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renova Group of Companies, and Evgeny Chudnovsky, General Director of Airports of Regions managing company.  

Construction of Saratov International Airport is the largest regional infrastructure project. After the construction, the new airport will replace the existing one, which will be decommissioned and then integrated into the urban development. As part of the construction project, the investor, Airports of the Regions holding company, is building a passenger terminal with the floor area of ​​23 thousand square meters and a complex of administrative and process utilities buildings. The airport is expected to be put into operation in 2019. The volume of investments made 7.7 billion rubles. Vladimir Putin was shown the main passenger service areas and Free South panoramic installation dedicated to the Cossack life. President Vladimir Putin was familiarized with new Airports of Regions holding company’s projects: construction of the airport in Saratov, passenger terminal in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and comprehensive reconstruction of the airport and airport infrastructure in Novy Urengoy. 

Airports of the Regions management company’s project in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky includes construction of an air terminal complex with the floor area of ​​more than 30,000 square meters, which will consist of a passenger terminal and a hotel with 120 rooms and a shopping and office area. The annual capacity of the passenger terminal will make 1 million passengers; the volume of private investment in the project makes 7.8 billion rubles. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2021.

A new passenger terminal with the floor area of ​​10.6 thousand square meters is planned to be constructed in Novy Urengoy. The annual capacity of the passenger terminal will make 1.45 million passengers. Besides, Airports of Regions managing company will invest funds in the reconstruction of the runway, taxiways and apron. All construction and reconstruction works on the facilities will be carried out without termination of the airport operation. The reconstruction of the infrastructure of the airport in Novy Urengoy is scheduled to be commenced in early 2018 and completed before the year 2021 is out. The investments will make more than 7.2 billion rubles.

President Vladimir Putin was also notified of the project for integrated development of the territory of former Rostov-on-Don airport.
