Airports of Regions MC holds a corporate professional skills competition among drivers of airfield services

An in-house competition was held during two days at Kurumoch Airport (Samara) among the drivers of airfield services from eight airports in Ekaterinburg, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Novy Urengoy, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Tobolsk (managed by Airports of Regions MC).

The competition comprised two rounds. In the first round, theoretical knowledge of regulations, occupational safety requirements for the operation of special vehicles and technical features of vehicles were assessed. In the second round, the contestants competed in their professional skills of operating large-size vehicles used on the airfields run by Airports of Regions MC.

Ruslan Gazizov from Kurumoch Airport (Samara) was recognised as the Company’s best driver. The team competition was won by drivers from Nizhny Novgorod V.P. Chkalov Airport.

“Operational maintenance of airfield pavements requires responsibility, technical literacy, accuracy and concentration. Such contests increase the prestige of airfield service, promoting the team spirit among our employees and, certainly, strengthen their desire to perform their work at the highest level. It is rewarding to realise that our employees demonstrated real skills and professionalism in operating special airfield vehicles,” commented Evgeny Derbenev, Chair of the Contest Committee and Chief Technology Officer at Airports of Regions MC.
