Airports of Regions wins three prizes within the national Air Gateway of Russia Awards

Airports of Regions MC was handed prizes in three categories within the Air Gateway of Russia Awards at the VIII National Civil Aviation Infrastructure Forum NAIS 2021.

The Management Company received its first award for efficient adaptation of business processes to the new realities in the midst of the pandemic and for efficient interaction with business partners. Platov Airport, together with Azimut Airlines, developed an interregional route network using the framing introduced by Russian Government Resolution No. 1242. In its turn, Koltsovo Airport became the hub for Red Wings Airlines which deployed its SSJ100 aircraft fleet there in 2020 and started building its route network from that hub.

The award For Best Regional Economic Development Project went to Gagarin Airport. This unique greenfield project was commissioned in summer 2019. Thanks to its launch, Saratov and the entire Volga region capitalised on this significant momentum to boost transport, logistics and tourism infrastructure.

A special award went to Airports of Regions MC for being a role model of social responsibility and volunteer support. At the height of the pandemic in 2020, its airports in Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky provided hot meals for citizens aged 65 and older. The initiative resulted in 319,000 daily rations including breakfasts, lunches and dinners, handed over to single retirees.

The Air Gateway of Russia Awards is called to celebrate most efficient and steadily developing national airports, promoting their positive image and reputation in society. The awarding ceremony is held at the NAIS forum venue.
