IN 2019 AIRPORTS OF REGIONS CARRIED 15.5 MILLION PASSENGERS
In 2019 the airports managed by the Airports of Regions holding (Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Novy Urengoy, Saratov) provided their services for 15 million 558 thousand flyers, up 2.1% year-on-year. The passenger traffic on domestic routes stood at 11 million 657 thousand people, on international routes – 3 million 901 thousand travelers.
Most dynamic in 2019 was the segment of interregional services over the routes bypassing Moscow. On regional routes the holding’s airports built up their passenger traffic by 14%, having provided their services for more than 4 million 879 thousand flyers.
The international airport Koltsovo (Yekaterinburg) provided its services for 6 million 363 thousand passengers in 2019. On international routes, the traffic was as high as 2 million 66 thousand flyers.
The international airport Kurumoch (Samara) received 3 million 10 thousand passengers in 2019. The traffic on domestic routes stood at 2 million 223 thousand. On international routes, 787 thousand travelers were transported.
The passenger traffic at Strigino international airport (Nizhny Novgorod) exceeded 1 million 129 thousand flyers in 2019. On inland Russian routes, the airport provided its services for 794 thousand passengers. The traffic of international airlines amounted to 335 thousand people.
The services of Platov international airport (Rostov-on-Don) were used by 3 million 60 thousand passengers. On domestic lines, the passenger traffic reached 2 million 378 thousand people. On international routes, the traffic rose to 682 thousand flyers.
The international airport Elizovo (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) provided its services for 759 thousand passengers in 2019. On domestic lines, the passenger traffic of Kamchatka’s main air hub was close to 742 thousand flyers, whereas the airport’s international routes were used by 17,000 travelers.
The services of the Novy Urengoy airport were used by 980 thousand passengers in 2019.
The services of the new international airport Gagarin in the city of Saratov were used by 257 thousand passengers from the time of its opening on 20 August 2019 and till the end of the previous year, with more than 246 thousand people using inland flights and 11,200 travelers taking international flights.
