AIRPORTS OF REGIONS MANAGEMENT COMPANY STARTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW AIRPORT COMPLEX IN SARATOV

The construction of the passenger terminal and technical service facilities was started on the site area of the new Saratov Airport complex. The official construction start-up ceremony was attended by the acting governor of Saratov Region Valery Radayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renova Group Viktor Vekselberg, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Aleksandr Neradko, General Director of Airports of Regions Management Company Evgeny Chudnovsky, Chairman of the Board of Esta Construction Company (General Contractor of the project) Bahattin Demirbilek.

“10 years ago the citizens of Saratov could only dream of a new modern airport, and today our megaproject entered the active stage”, said Valery Radayev in his welcoming speech before the ceremony participants. “The modern transport hub plays an important role for the economy and citizens of Saratov Region. The completion of construction of the complex will increase the status of the region, its investment and tourist attractiveness”.

“Airports of Regions Company has gained a wide experience in the reconstruction of operating airports and construction of new airports, which makes us confident that the project in Saratov Region will be implemented in a quality and timely manner”, said Viktor Vekselberg during the business meeting. “The success of such projects implemented in the form of the public-private partnership largely depends on the consolidation of efforts of the federal center, regional authorities and private investors”.

It should be noted that Airports of Regions Holding carries out the construction of the passenger terminal and technical service facilities of the new airport. The passenger terminal with the area of 23 ths sq. m will meet the up-to-date requirements for comfort and safety of passengers. Besides, the investment part of the project stipulates the construction of the complex of administrative and industrial buildings for the process operations of the airport. The launch of flights from the new airport is scheduled for the spring of 2019.
