INTERIORS OF VIP LOUNGES IN NEW ROSTOV-ON-DON AIRPORT COMPLEX WILL REFLECT DON REGION NATURE BEAUTY

Two Moscow-based architect firms – Nefa Architects and VOX Architects Studio – have been entitled to work out the interior design for the VIP lounges at the new Rostov-on-Don airport passenger terminal. The VIP lounge for the domestic Russian flights area will be designed according to Steppe concept proposed by Nefa Architects, while VOX Architects Studio will implement the Sun. Air. Riverside. project in the international flights business lounge. The appropriate decision was taken by the Airports of Regions holding according to the competitive selection, which included bookbuilding and preliminary analysis of potential applicants’ experience and competences, as well as public defense  of concepts offered.

“We have conducted a serious selection from more then two dozens of applicants and selected the most elaborated and, in our opinion, interesting architectural concepts”, Alexei Bogatyrev, Airports of Regions MC Master-Planning Director, summarized competitive selection results. Concepts offered to winners account for functional features of premises and up-to-date requirements to the comfort level to maximum effect.   I’m sure future passengers will assess the convenience of VIP lounges in the new Rostov-on-Don airport worthily before the flight.

The new airport passenger terminal will locate 2 VIP lounges: for those departing along domestic Russian routes and waiting for the departure abroad.  The domestic airlines’ lounge will be able to accept simultaneously up to 70-80 visitors, and that of international airlines - up to 60 passengers.

The interior, special stylish and space solution for VIP lounges of domestic airlines was evoked to Nefa Architects specialists by Don region nature colors. Southern market contrasts, faded city port colors, but Don steppe turned out to have the brightest image! Having changed the scale, designers offered making the ceiling in the form of petals, plunging visitors into a southern steppe kingdom. The concept offered will allow guests leaving Rostov-on-Don to consolidate positive impressions of staying in the southern capital of Russia - a sunny city with great history and generous nature.
