FOR 6 MONTHS OF 2016, PASSENGER FLOW VIA AIRPORTS OF REGIONS MC AIRPORTS ACCOUNTED FOR 3 MLN. 996 THOS. 011 PEOPLE

Passenger flow via Airports of Regions MC airports (Koltsovo, Kurumoch, Strigino, Rostov-on-Don) accounted for 3 mln. 996 thos. 011 passengers for 6 months of 2016. The scope of passenger operations continues growing at domestic airlines. In January-September 2016, 3 mln. 283 thos. 216 people were carried, thus exceeding the previous year similar period indicator by + 15%. Furthermore, the passenger demand decrease tendency remains at international airlines.  712 thos. 795 people were served for the reporting period, less than 2015 indicator by 46.5%.

In 2016 half-year I, 24 thos. 226 fixed-wing sorties were operated from holding airports. The volume of mail and cargoes handled in January-June 2016 was 17 thos.  545,344.000 t, exceeding the  indicator of 2015 similar period by 30.3%.

Since the beginning of the year, 29 new regular directions, both international and regional, have been opened in holding airports. Flights of 13 airlines in the aggregate started operations from Airports of Regions MC airports. In the first half-year, 99 airlines were operating flights at 182 directions on a regular basis.

Koltsovo International Airport (Ekaterinburg) passenger flow was 1 mln. 835 thos. 897 people in January-June 2016. In particular, domestic airlines served 1 mln. 405 thos. 058 people, and international ones – 430 thos. 839 people.

920 thos. 867 passengers enjoyed Kurumoch International Airport (Samara) services for 2016 first half-year.  Among other things, domestic airlines carried 807 thos. 006 passengers, and international ones –  113 thos. 861 passengers.

Strigino International Airport (Nizhny Novgorod) passenger flow was 333 thos. 949 people for the reporting period. Domestic Russian airlines served 303 thos. 295 passengers, and international ones – 30 thos. 654 passengers.

Rostov-on-Don International Airport served 905 thos. 298 people in January-June 2016.  Domestic airlines carried 767 thos. 857  people, and international ones – 137 thos. 441 people.

In the first 2016 half-year, the growth trend in domestic Russian operations continues. Moscow and St.Petersburg remain the most requested directions as before. The popularity of Russian resorts:  Sochi, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and Simferopol is preserved.
