PASSENGER FLOW VIA AIRPORTS OF REGIONS MC AIRPORTS ACCOUNTED FOR 6.9 MLN FOR 9 MONTHS OF 2016

Passenger flow via Airports of Regions MC airports (Koltsovo, Kurumoch, Strigino, Rostov-on-Don) accounted for 6 mln. 947 thos. 900 passengers for 9 months of 2016. The scope of passenger operations continues growing at domestic airlines. In January-September 2016, 5 mln. 504 thos. 379 people were carried, thus exceeding the previous year similar period indicator by + 12.2%. Furthermore, the passenger demand decrease tendency remains at international airlines.  1 mln. 443 thos. 521 people were served for the reporting period, less than 2015 indicator by 43.5%.

In January-September 2016, 39 thos. 188 fixed-wing sorties were operated from holding airports. The volume of mail and cargoes handled for 9 months of 2016 was 27 thos. 489.452 t, exceeding the  indicator of 2015 similar period by 25.9%.

Since the beginning of the year, 6 new regular directions, both international and regional, have been opened in holding airports. Flights of 4 airlines in the aggregate started operations from Airports of Regions MC airports. In January-September 2016, 44 airlines were operating flights at 84 directions on a regular basis.

Koltsovo International Airport (Ekaterinburg) passenger flow was 3 mln. 258 thos. 557 people in January-September 2016. In particular, domestic airlines served 2 mln. 397 thos. 712 people, and international ones – 860 thos. 845 people.

1 mln. 562 thos. 810 passengers enjoyed Kurumoch International Airport (Samara) services for 9 months of 2016.  Among other things, domestic airlines carried 1 mln. 321 thos. 385 passengers, and international ones – 241 thos. 425 passengers.

Strigino International Airport (Nizhny Novgorod) passenger flow was 600 thos. 340 people for the reporting period. Domestic Russian airlines served 522 thos. 405 passengers, and international ones – 77 thos. 935 passengers.

Rostov-On-Don International Airport served 1 mln. 526 thos. 193 people for 9 months of 2016.  Domestic airlines carried 1 mln. 262 thos. 877 people, and international ones – 263 thos. 316 people.

In January-September 2016, the growth trend in domestic Russian operations continued. Moscow and St.Petersburg remain the most requested directions as before. The popularity of Russian resorts:  Sochi, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and Simferopol is preserved.
