AIRPORTS OF REGIONS MC PASSENGER FLOW AT 2016 END ACCOUNTED FOR 9.3 MLN

At 2016 end, 9 mln. 267 thos. people have used the services of airports (Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Rostov-on-Don) of Airports of Regions MC, 2% lower than the previous 2015 year level.  The passenger flow at domestic airlines was 7 mln. 315 thos. people (+14%),  and 1 mln. 952 thos. (-36) - at international lines.

According to 2016 results, two holding airports managed to reach positive dynamics.  Koltsovo Airport (Ekaterinburg) served 4 mln. 300 thos. passengers, having this exceeded the 2015 result by 1.3%. 2 mln. 95 thos. people (+1.5%) were Rostov-on-Don airport passengers. Samara Kurumoch airport served 2 mln. 92 thos. passengers (- 5.3%), and Strigino in Nizhny Novgorod  - 780 thos. (-18%).

“2016 has passed for us under the sign of replacement of volumes of international carriages lost due to restrictions with respect to Turkey and Egypt. We managed it: actual passenger flow dynamics exceeded our initial expectations by 5%.  We gained strength technologically having materially shortened the time for the ground handling of airplanes and servicing of transfer passengers, implemented a number of important projects in the transfer area at all our airports virtually, enhanced interaction with airlines and players at the tourist market. We reckon that the effect of measures taken will increase against the backdrop of economic situation stabilization”, Sergei Dotsenko, Director for Aviation Business Development, Airports of Regions MC, mentions.

We note that since November 2016, Airports of Regions holding reverted to positive passenger flow dynamics of international airlines. Airports served 16% passengers more at international airlines over two recent months, that for the similar period of the previous year.
