AIRPORTS OF REGIONS MC PASSENGER FLOW AT QUARTER ONE END ACCOUNTED FOR 2.1 MLN
At 2017 quarter one end, 2 mln. 124 thos. people have used the services of airports (Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Rostov-on-Don) of Airports of Regions MC, 22% higher than in the previous 2016 year similar period. The passenger flow at domestic airlines was 1 mln. 703 thos. (+15%), and 422 thos. (+63%) - at international lines.
Ekaterinburg, Samara and Rostov-on-Don airports’ result proved to be better not only the previous year, but pre-crisis 2014 as well - the best one for the industry. That allowed them setting peculiar records - such airports have served as many passengers during three first months, as they had not served yet in their modern history.
The passenger flow at Koltsovo airport (Ekaterinburg) was 940 thos. and exceeded 2016 quarter one result by 21%. 553 thos. people (+38.6%) were Rostov-on-Don airport passengers . Samara Kurumoch airport served 480 thos. passengers (+14.3%), and Strigino in Nizhny Novgorod - 151 thos. (+7%).
“In absolute terms, holding passenger flow at quarter one end increased by 386 thos. passengers. 83% of such volume were provided by Moscow and international carriage segment, with their contribution to the passenger flow growth being nearly equal - the passenger flow at Moscow direction increased by 158 thos., and by 164 thos. at international airlines. Improvement of quarter one air carriage indicators is thus explained by two key factors - recovery of business activities and demand for tourist trips”, Sergei Dotsenko, Director for Aviation Business Development, Airports of Regions MC, mentions.
